The challenge
Lammers & Lammers don’t sell ordinary products. Every porcelain figurine is handmade, from casting to gilding with real gold. That story deserves more than a standard WordPress webshop with a WooCommerce plugin and an off-the-shelf theme.
The old site did the job but didn’t inspire. No experience, no atmosphere, no connection to the craft behind the figurines. Meanwhile, the technical debt grew and performance worsened. Time for something new, something as independent-spirited as the Pupkes themselves.
Our approach
It all started with the story. Two sisters, a studio in Haarlem, and an obsession with porcelain. That character had to be the foundation for everything: the design, the typography, the way products are presented.
The storefront is built in Next.js: fast, scalable, and fully custom. No plugin hassle, no compromises. The site loads lightning fast and looks polished on every device, from the homepage showcasing the craft process to the product pages where each figurine truly shines.
Under the hood is a sleek integration with Mollie for payments: iDEAL, credit card, all handled smoothly. And with MyParcel, the shop manages shipping automatically: creating labels, linking tracking, and informing customers. No more manual work on the operations side, so Ingeborg and Marit can focus on what they do best.
The entire stack runs on our own European infrastructure. No American clouds, no dependence on third parties. Just fast, secure, and stable.
